Midnight Wheat Malt,
third in a series of new seasonal malts from Briess

[07.27.10] Briess Malt & Ingredients Co. has released the third malt in its new Maltster’s Reserve Series. Midnight Wheat Malt is a seasonal malt available now through September for the next season’s brews. Exceptionally dark but smooth flavored, it is well suited for dark but lighter flavored beers like Black IPAs and Schwarzbiers, and other dark beers.

Midnight Wheat Malt, 550º Lovibond, has no bitter, astringent, dry flavors or aftertaste.  It starts slightly sweet, contributes mild roasted/chocolate/coffee flavors and finishes exceptionally clean.

The Maltster’s Reserve Series is a series of four seasonal malts, one every season for the next season’s brews.  They are all permanent additions to the Briess product line.
