Briess - divider line

In 1990 Briess became certified to produce organic malt and malt extract. Since then all new manufacturing plants we've built have been certified to produce organics. Our certifying agency is Oregon Tilth.

We produce eight styles of malt, roasted barley, light-colored LME and light-colored DME as USDA Certified. All are made from AMBA-recommended varieties of USDA certified organic 2-Row malting barley.

When it comes to organics, we've been around the block a few times. So if you're thinking of brewing with organic malts or want to label your beer "organic," give us a call. We'll help you understand USDA requirements to label your beer "organic" and discuss the additional procedures and costs associated with brewing organic beer.
