Briess - divider line


In 1990 the Briess malthouse in Chilton, Wisconsin, was certified to produce organic malt, making Briess the first malting company in the United States to become certified organic. Today all Briess manufacturing facilities are certified to produce organic ingredients. Our third party certifying agency is Oregon Tilth. and we are a member of the Organic Trade Association.


Deciding whether to enter the world of organics can be a difficult decision to make and is often based on a combination of market demand or potential, plus a personal commitment to healthy living and our environment. The decision should be made, however, only after gaining a complete understanding of what it takes to become certified organic, how to label organic products and using an organic certifying agency.


That’s where we can help. Growing, processing, storing, labeling and selling organic goods is the U.S. is regulated by the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP). We understand that system. And while we can’t make your decision for you, we can help you understand the world of organics so you can make the right decision for you and your brewery.
