Quantity Ingredient Comment Malt Style 8 lbs Goldpils® Vienna Malt Base 3 lbs Pilsen Malt Base 1.5 oz Saaz Hops (5% AA) Boil 60 minutes .5 oz Saaz Hops (5% AA) Boil 15 minutes 1.0 oz Spalt Hops ( 4% AA) Boil 1 minutes 1 vial WLP920 Old Bavarian Lager Yeast 1 capsule Servomyces Yeast Nutrient Boil 10 minutes
Procedures
- Mash grains at 152º for 45 minutes
- Heat to 170ºF
- Lauter
- Boil with bittering hops for 45 minutes
- Add second hop addition, boil 14 minutes
- Add final hop addition, boil 1 minute
- Cool to 60º F, oxygenate wort
- Pitch 1 vial WLP920 Old Bavarian Lager Yeast
- Upon first signs of fermentation cool to 52ºF
Primary Fermentation: 3 weeks at 52ºF
Secondary Fermentation: 6 weeks
Fermentation Notes: Bottle: add 1/4 vial WLP920 Old Bavarian Lager Yeast
Original Gravity: 1.053
Final Gravity: 1.013
