I stopped by Georgetown Brewing here in Seattle this past week and got to sample their very tasty newish IPA called “Lucille”. This beer hangs it’s hat on Amarillo hops (along with some Centennial and Cascade) and has some serious “drinkability” and balance; it doesn’t beat down your palate like some IPA’s. One of the coolest things that Georgetown does in their tap room is care for the beer going out the door; they have a 3-head counter pressure growler filler. Growlers are very convenient way of taking some beer home or to a party but most breweries seem to resort to just hooking a tube to the faucet which will result in wasted product (overflow on fill) as well as being a quicker way to Oxidationland. Kudos to the Georgetown crew for going that extra mile!
