This past week I had the pleasure once again to help sponsor the sold-out RMMS held in Colorado Springs at the UCCS campus. This is probably the best one-day event in the craft brewing industry as they line up some excellent speakers (it’s like a one-day Craft Brewers Conference). This year the keynote speaker was John Bryant from Oskar Blues and he was able to give an interesting perspective on his 20 years in the craft segment as well as the current Oskar Blues growth (cans, cans and more cans). Also speaking were Brian Pearson of Brewing Science Institute (yeast for lagers- great technical website), Chad Yakobson from Crooked Stave Artisan Beers (Brettanomyces Project) and a very entertaining Steve Breezly of Avery Brewing who debuted their new Dihos Dactylion Barrel Aged #7, deliciously sour. Thanks to Bristol Brewing for hosting the Thursday night gathering and Trinity Brewing for dinner Friday evening after we wound down. And a BIG thanks to Chris Stubbs of the RMMS for coordinating the whole event, great job! All of the presentations will be available on the RMMS website soon, you should check them out.
