Briess is excited to be a sponsor of the 2014/2015 Future Farmers of America (FFA) Grain Production Proficiency Award for the Powell-Shoshone FFA Chapter. With Briess’ growing barley production in Wyoming, it only makes sense to team up with the Future Farmers of America.
For the second year, Chance Karst, a young, aspiring, fourth-generation farmer, has been a contract barley grower with Briess. Over the last two years, Chance has applied the best management practices available to efficiently produce and market crops for his barley production. His passion and dedication for grain production made him an outstanding candidate for the 2014/2015 FFA Grain Production Proficiency Award. On May 7, 2015 the junior was honored at the local chapter banquet at his high school in Powell, WY. Judy Bullinger of the Briess Wyoming Barley Operation presented Chance with this year’s award along with a large bag of Briess Malted Milk Balls and a gift certificate for Briess logo’d jacket.
Chance was delighted to receive this award along with the chocolate goodies and is looking forward to a long and rewarding career in the Agriculture Industry. Chance wrote a thank you card that read,
“The Grain Production Entrepreneurship project has helped me understand and work in the Ag industry. At this time, my future interests are working in the Ag industry. I will continue my grain production project again this year for 2015 crop. I have the barley planted, and with all the recent rain and moisture, it will be an interesting harvest. P.S. The Briess Malted Milk balls are great! Thanks!!”
Thank you Chance for being a fourth-generation farmer and a barley grower for Briess! We wish you the best of luck and a great 2015 harvest!
