Sean has been a fixture in Richmond’s beer community for over a decade, first as a passionate homebrewer and co-owner of the Commercial Tap House, and now as a brewer at The Answer Brewpub. Sean focuses his brews on ingredients that he can locally source that bring fresh new concepts to beer styles. Black Rye IPA
This brew brings a refreshing twist on Black IPA’s with its medium body, a soft, but slightly spicy, caramel rye character, and malty after-notes. Brewed by Tony Ammendolia of Final Gravity in Richmond, VA, it is craftily designed with the homebrewer in mind. Tony has been homebrewing since 1993 and in 2011 he opened his homebrew shop, Original Gravity. In 2015, Tony was ready to take his dream to the next level, and opened Final Gravity Brewing Co, a 2 BBL nanobrewery, in the same space as Original Gravity. He is passionate about home brewing and loves to share his passion with his customers and the brewing community. His Black Rye IPA is brewed with all Briess ingredients including Briess Brewers Malt, Caramel Rye Malt, Midnight Wheat Malt and Blackprinz® Malt. It is hopped in the boil with Simcoe and Amarillo.
