A bunch of us brewed a batch of Schwarzbier yesterday in our 1bbl Briess pilot brewery. As you can tell, the pix was was taken before we started brewing (notice the clean shirts ‘n’ ‘jeans). Bob Hansen, our tech services manager who’s holding the bag of malt, was our trainer assisted by Rich Ellis, tall guy in the back who just joined our team as Division Manager-East.
Spending time in the pilot brewery or any of our plants is one of my favorite things to do. But yesterday’s brewing session was even more eventful because we were brewing with a new malt Briess is releasing next month. Shh. Don’t tell anyone.
