Lager & Friends is an annual beer festival presented by Gathering Place Brewing in Milwaukee, WI. To hold a beer festival centered on lagers and friends, without crafting a beer with your mates, would be unthinkable. Gathering Place Brewing understands this well, having united old and new acquaintances to co-create a special brew. A tap on the shoulder a few years back initiated the friendship between Gathering Place and Sketchbook Brewing in Skokie, IL, and they have teamed up ever since for Lager & Friends. As for Briess, this marks our inaugural year participating in this festive gathering, and we’re honored to support it as a sponsor!
As Briess Marketing Coordinators, who usually plan and promote our products and events behind the scenes, both Jamie Skelton and I were thrilled to have the opportunity to be invited for this brew collab day. From pouring our very own Briess malt into the mill to digging out spent grain, we discovered every step offers a lesson in the art of brewing. However, Jamie and I haven’t been able to figure out hops quite yet, but we’ll leave that for the experts.
